The Evil Inside book done

I am done with The Evil Inside book. I have to say Heather Graham did not disappoint! The ending was climatic, like I hoped it would be. It really  is a great book. I like how she made some of the chapter endings nail-biters.  I didn't want to stop reading, because I wanted to know what happened next. I was kind of bummed about her not writing in a part about the Krewe going to visit Maliki. They talked about meeting him, but it never happened. If you are going to read the book, knowing that piece on info does not take away from the book. It was something I thought of after I was done reading.
I can not wait to read the other books in The Krewe of Hunters series. Phantom Evil, Heart of Evil, Scared Evil, The Unseen, The Unholy, The Unspoken, The Uninvited, and Let the Dead Sleep (the newest). I am very excited about all of these, because I only thought there was 3 books in The Krewe of Hunters series. I was scoping out her website and came upon the rest of the books. Oh My! I just found three more in the series: The Night Watching, The Night Alive (which comes out this month), and The Night Forever (comes out in Sep.).

Almost done!

Oh The Evil Inside book is heating up! I am almost to the big climatic (hopefully) ending. I am into the juicy nitty gritty chapters! The two teen boys are running scared after their encounter with Sam, Jackson, and Will. Jenna and Sam have the same ideas about the murders, but they don't know they are on the same page yet.  It's all coming together so good. I love this book.

Ending to ch. 11...dream

I just ended chap 11 of the Evil Inside book. The crew was out going through the motions of getting the feel of the town, towns people, the key people involved in the murder/mystery. The girls finally talked to the teen boys. After that encounter, the book verifies a twist that I was thinking. Who knows, I'm half way through the book so anything could happen. Angela wants to see inside Lexington House. She want to try to see if she comes up with anything. Jenna also wants to go back in to get a better reading. Then I get to the end of the chapter and Jenna has the eeriest dream about Lexington House. The female ghost is telling her not to go into the house (in her dream) because she will just find lies, that truth lies in the.... I will let the last word  hang, just in case someone is actually reading my nonsense and wants to read this amazing paranormal mystery murder book.
Can not wait to start chap 12 and see what or who they find going into the creepy Lexington house. Find out what the ever so popular female ghost Jenna keeps seeing is trying to tell her. She's very cryptic.

Jenna Physic abilities....The Evil Inside

Jenna special ability  is postcognition. Which is exactly like it says, because I Google it and she does explain it in the book. So here is one of the definition on Google:

Postcognition, also called RetrocognitionPast Sight or Retrospect is the psychic ability to visually perceive information about past events after they happen, without any guessing based on deductive reasoning and current knowledge. This ability occurs as a brief flash of the scene, or it may last longer. Sometimes, however, it can even be activated at will within whichever interval the user desires (the last six hours, yesterday) at which time it becomesSelective PostcognitionSelective Retrocognition or Selective Retrospect.

Not sure why it pasted like that. I am keeping it that way, don't want to mess with it.

I think it would be kind of neat to see into the past, especially if a grandparent or parent passed away. You could see how they looked, talked, lived. I always wondered about how my grandfather was when he was alive. He passed away when I was 3 or 4. I don't remember him and the memories I thought I had are not right.  Then again, I'm not sure if I would like to wake up to a ghost by my bed, rambling on and on, or just staring. Creepy!

The book is getting more interesting as it goes. Jenna's FBI crew is in town. The notorious Jackson Crow, known for being a  top notch behavior profiler is there. Will Chan is coming to street perform, so he can scoop out the towns people.  Angela will be helping Jenna, she can see ghosts also, I think. I will have to keep reading. Unofficially they are helping them out. With most of the crew in Salem the book is going to crank up a notch (in my opinion).  The mystery of who went on a killing spree is still up in the air. A couple of  ghosts from the past is helping Jenna crack the case (in a  very ghostly read between the lines way). I just love Heather Graham books. She has two more books in the Evil series, defiantly going to have to pick them up.

The Evil Inside by Heather Graham

I started reading the Evil inside by Heather Graham. Heather Graham is one of my favorite authors. I love the paranormal and books about physic abilities. Kay Hooper is another of my favorites. I like her Bishop trilogies. This book is based in Salem. I would love to visit Salem some time in my life. Halloween is one of our favorite holidays. No my family is not the whole grudge type of people or anything like that. We just enjoy decorating and having fun. Halloween is the perfect time for all of it.  Back to the book, this book is about a lawyer and a special agent from the special abilities FBI unit and they are trying to find the innocence of a young man. The town thinks he killed his family, neighbor, and substitute teacher, just because he is a little strange. Jenna the FBI agent can see into the past. The lawyer is a big shot lawyer from Boston, but he grew up in Salem. Jenna also grew up in Salem.  I like how it is Haunted Happenings in Salem and the book talks about the history of Salem. I haven't gotten to far into the book, but I do have a couple of ideas of who might of murdered those people. I'm pretty sure Jenna and Sam probably will hook up.

Finally!

WooHoo!! I finally finished Smashcut by Sandra Brown. I should of been done with it weeks ago. It was a very good book. The ending turned out a little different than I thought it would, but no surprise who murdered Paul Wheeler. After about the middle of the book, you know who it is. There is a twist in the book, which I never seen coming. The twist is summed up in one sentence. It is the last sentence of a chapter. I actually had to re read the last couple of sentences to make sure I read it right. It was kind of a "What?" moment. Then you start thinking about everything that was said throughout the book.  It was a good little twist, it made me think. It also reminded me to never assume anything. Thanks, Sandra for that reminder...ha ha.
Hopefully I can start another book soon. I am trying to catch up on major housework, cleaning out, re-organizing. I did some major yard work today. The yard has been kind of neglected lately. We mow and take care of grandmas yard. So then we get behind on ours. There's not enough hours in a day, especially when both of us works weekends. Eric does a good job of mowing. But then the trimming and clean up usually gets left. The yard looks better than it did. Ran out of weed killer, used a big gallon of it and still need to spray more. Need to spray bug crap around the porch and house. The earwigs are out of control this summer. We figure its because of all the rain. Last year, we hardly saw any at all. Probably because of the drought. I don't know, but they are a nuisance and nasty little things. Makes me shiver just talking about them.  So, this week was a lot of  finally's! Hopefully next week will be as productive.

Almost to the End! Smashcut!

I decided I wanted a little color to my post. I am almost finished with the book and we now know who committed the murder and the whys. Now the conclusion is coming to see if the attorney can prove someones innocence and save the day. I wonder how they are going to do that? Sandra Brown has written Creighton character wonderfully. He is in a little bubble with his obsession with  movies. It's like he is living in a movie. All the research she had to do, to find the perfect movies  and movie quotes. Nice Job Sandra! Can't wait to finish the book. Hopefully I can read the rest today.

Suspenseful!

Wow, wow, wow...I am still chugging along reading Smashcut. I love the way Sandra Brown wrote Creighton's character. He is slimy, sneaky, and psychotic. Then intertwine it with his movie obsession. He is a fictional character and I would like to pummel him most of the time because of his obnoxious behavior. I can't imagine a grown man in real life acting the way he does. On to the mystery man Billy Duke. Is he Julies ex husband, or did Creighton hire him? Maybe Julie hired him? I still haven't gotten far enough in the book to know who is the culprit. I did just end the chapter which shows how obsessive Creighton is and that Julie might be more legit than we think. I assumed I would be able to read more since the kids were out of school for the summer, but I was wrong. I should of had this book read before now, especially since it's good. We have been watching more movies than usual. Hopefully I can get more read tonight. I really want to know who killed Paul!

Smashcut by Sandra Brown

I'm on Chapter 12 of Smashcut. Sandra Brown does not disappoint.  It's a romantic, murder mystery novel all in one. Creighton Wheeler is a class act snobby arrogant rich kid (man). Julie Rutledge is a mourning girlfriend that watched her rich boyfriend get murdered in cold blood. Did either one of these suspects set up Paul Wheeler to get murdered? We don't know, they both have alibis. Of course Julie was there, but does that mean she didn't plan out the murder?  Creighton says he didn't do it, but did he? Could it be someone else? Who knows! I'm only on Chapter 12. Some new evidence came along in Chap 11 and now it's heating up. I hope the rest of the book is as good and intense as the first few chapters. Oh and the criminal lawyer Derek Mitchell sounds pretty darn hot!

End one book and begin another

I finished the Stone Barrington series I was reading. It got better by the end, but it was kind of a boring book. I'm not sure if the reason was because I went from Fifty Shades to a crime book. It could be that it took me longer to finish. I was busy with end of year school activities with the boys.

I just started a Sandra Brown book. I always like her books. My very first romance novel was Sandra Brown Where's There Smoke. I had to look it up to make sure it was the right title. I guess it's listed as a suspense/ thriller. While on her website looking up the title, I realized I have read quite a few of her books. I was scanning the list and thinking I have read that, I have read that, so on and so on. The book I'm reading now is Smash Cut. It's also a suspense thriller/romance novel. Its a murder mystery book. It does start out with action.

One of the Stone Barrington Series

                               Reckless Abandon by Stuart Woods
                                A Stone Barrington Novel

I started reading another Stone Barrington series that Stuart Woods writes. This is a good series to read, especially if you like a good detective series. You really don't have to read them in order.  I am about half done with the book. It started out kind of slow, but it's getting better.
Stone used to be a cop, but then got injured and went into the legal profession as a lawyer. He seems more like a detective than a lawyer.  He drives a very cool Mercedes with "lightly armored" windows. How cool is that!  In Reckless Abandon, Holly comes to town with an agenda. She is a police chief in Florida and she came to New York to capture a fugitive that is in the Mafia and working for the CIA.  The CIA is hiding him in a witness protection program. Stone gets mixed up with the whole affair, because he had met Holly in Florida and she calls him when she comes into town. That is all I'm going to say right now.
All the books I have read by Stuart Woods are really good. He does not disappoint. I stated earlier that this book started kind of slow, but it is still a good read.

Soooo Excited!!

I went to the Half Price book store today. I came across a book by Kay Hooper I haven't read yet.  It was called  The First Prophet. So I checked to see how much it was and the only price I found was the original price of the book. It did look brand new, but I assumed it would be half  of the original price. It is called Half Price books. I put it back and decided when I had extra money I would be back to buy it. I have all the other Bishop series books. I couldn't believe I didn't know about this book!  My daughter came around the corner and I asked her if they sold new books here, because that is the only price I saw on the book. Of course, she didn't know. We ended up leaving empty handed. On the way out I was telling her about the book and that I was excited because I found a Bishop book that I hadn't read. I said I didn't know if it was a new book or I overlooked it. She said, "Didn't you look on the inside to see what the copyright date was?" I replied, "No, I was pissed about not finding a price, so I put it back." " I will Google it when I get home." She said, "OK then."

I just Google Kay Hooper and found the book. I'm so excited, it isn't part of the Bishop/SCU series. She had written a new Bishop Files series and that was the first book of the series. It came out in November of this year. Woot! Woot!
Plus I found out by looking at her website, that there will be a new Bishop/SCU series book called Haven. It comes out in July of this year. Double Woot!Woot!
Now, what needs to happen is my sister needs to buy them both and give them to me after she reads them.

The End!!

I am done with the Fifty Shades of Grey series. What an interesting, intense, "oh my" book. I really enjoyed all three books. By the last book, it was kind of getting redundant. But, the end of the book picked up and got exciting.  I really like the last part of the book, The Shades of Christian. I thought it was neat where she wrote about Christian perspective when Ana came in to interview him.
I truly hope they make a movie. Not sure how they will go about it without cutting a lot of the sex scenes. Wonder what it will be rated? Also, they will have to cast a hunk of a man to play Christian. I did research all the post about the movie rumors. I read they were thinking about Jared Padalecki (plays Sam in Supernatural) for Christians part. He is kind of hot. If they were going to pick one of the two actors from Supernatural it should be Jensen Ackles (plays Dean). He would be a perfect fit.   I think Elizabeth Olsen would be perfect for the part. Please, Please do not cast a younger generation actress, like Emma Roberts. She may be of consenting age, but honestly it would be a little awkward to watch.  I hope if they do make the movie it is better than One For The Money. I was so disappointed with that movie. I feel they could of done better. I love the Stephanie Plum series! I told the girls it would of been better as a mini series.
Anyways, I'm glad I decided to read this series. I enjoyed it. Shh ...don't repeat this, but it kind of sparked our sex life. Not the whips and canes type of thing, but the worshiping the body kind of sex. It kind of made me think about the whole are we in the vanilla sex rut?  Which this is the first I have ever heard about Vanilla sex. I actually Googled it to see if it was an actual phrase. It was! Things that make you go hmm....

Third Book of Series....still reading!!

I am slowly getting through the third book of the Fifty Shades of Grey series. It a bit redundant. I really enjoy Ana's inner goddess and subconscious.   I still enjoy/laugh at the e-mail banter.

I googled an Audi A8 and A4, both of them are pretty hot cars. Oh how I wish I was rich. I would buy an Audi! Then again, they are as much as buying a house. I feel a house would be a better investment.

On To The Next

Done with Book 2 of the Fifty Shades of Grey series. I have to say E L James has put every romantic story  cliche'  in her books so far.  We have the psycho ex! Well this series has 2 ex's, and they are not just everyday ex-girlfriends. One is an ex-submissive and one is an ex-domineer (who taught him everything). Of course they both are still in love with him. We have the Oh-I-can't-live-without-you relationship. The boyfriend goes missing.  The perverted boss. The deep dark past or secret. Then when you think there can't be anything more exciting, here comes the creeper/stalker who wants to get even. Let's not forget the drop dead gorgeous guy, who everyone drools over. The shy girl, who is awkward and really doesn't know how beautiful she really is. Yes, most of this was in the second book. Last but not least, this isn't any old romance novel, its an erotica romance novel! I have learned some very interesting things reading this book. I have taken a couple of days off of reading. I'm hoping to start the third book tomorrow.

Thermo Nuclear Fifty

So...I took my book with me to the hospital today. I sat with my grandpa while my grandma went to the dentist. My grandpa was asleep, so I decided to get it out and read for awhile. While I was reading, the cleaning lady came in to touch up his room. I closed my book, so I could pick up the drinks that were on his tray and let her clean it. I put the drinks back down and looked up at her. She had this weird look on her face. I was thinking, what was that about. I go to open my book so I could continue reading. I suddenly realized that she probably saw what I was reading and got a little flustered. After that I made sure I turned the book over so I wouldn't embarrass anyone else. I'm sure she went out of the room and told everyone that I was in their reading Fifty Shades of Grey. Not that I care, but it was pretty funny when I looked up at her and she had the weirdest look on her face.
I finally got to the part of the book where Leila comes out of hiding. I thought is was going to be the same ol same of any romantic story, but I was pleasantly surprised when it went into submissive mode. The way that E L James wrote how Ana felt about the intensity between Christian and Leila, I felt so bad for her. I wanted to cry, I could feel her heart break. I honestly thought the story was going to go differently than it did.   After Leila is taken care of, we are privileged to  another surprise. Christian a Submissive! Then another heart stopping admission from Christian. His awful secret comes out and boy is it a doosey! I totally was thinking she (James)  was going to go with the sexual abusive thing. Nope, I would never of thought of something so out there. Which may not be so "out there" for some people, but I was reading it thinking "Oh My". Again, I was feeling a pang of heartbreak for Ana. She did want to know his "dark secret". It is a Thermo Nuclear Fifty Shades of a secret. I don't know maybe other people who read the book guess it right. I don't think I would of never got it write. It all makes sense so far.  I am glad that these last couple chapters have been so exciting, I was kind of getting bored. I have about 7 chapters left. I hope they are as exciting as these last few chapters.

More Fifty Shades of Darker

I read a few more chapters and it seems Mr. Fifty Shades is falling more in love with Ana. In the couple of chapters that I have read he is being semi normal (for him) and trying on an honest relationship. Of course he can't quite give up his controlling ways. Like the book says "you have to walk before you run". By the time I am done reading Mr. Fifty shades of messed up is back and in full action. My wondering mind is at ease she goes back to work, but with stipulations. They are still worried about  Leila, but she is no where to be seen. Hopefully we will see some excitement from her by the end of the book.
Well...well...well the notorious Mrs. Robinson shows up at the condo unannounced.  She is very persistent in wanting to smooth things over with Ana.  I had to stop reading right when she shows up.  I am eager to see what she has to say and why she is so overeager to talk to Ana.

  Some thoughts......

  • Suffocating is not the word I would of used for Christians "loving" ways.
  • Audi's for all the "subs", not shock by that little tidbit of info.
  • Another first, he takes her to his catamaran for a glorious "unfifties" afternoon.
  • Can you say nymphs?

A running list of things I will never think the same about...

  1. Riding in elevators (with my husband, of course)
  2. Vanilla Ice Cream
  3. Ties
  4. Playing Pool
Kudos to the author....I love this book with its interesting twist on a romance novel. It may not be the best written book, but its pretty intense. Even if your not sure if you want to continue reading, for some reason you can't stop reading.

Fifty Oh Fifty....

I knew Leila would still be in his apartment. I totally thought if she was going to honestly shoot one of them it would of been during the fireworks.  Sex, sex, sex.....wow a lot Of sex.   Way to go to Ana for telling off mrs. Robinson..go girl! Hmm....it kind of shocks me that he is running away from Leila, I figured he would want to handle and control the situation himself.  Oh how it's getting intense chapter by chapter.
It is killing me the suspense of what happened to Christian that makes him feel unworthy and so locked up inside. It has to be more than just his abusive past with his birth mother.  The dweeb that I am  wonders  if she will be going back to her job on Monday. Hmmm....curious minds what to know.

Fifty Shades of Messed up.....coming around!

I read a couple more chapters last night.  Ana is now living with Christian for the time being. Christian is actually admitting to falling for Ana. At least he is trying to have a "normal" (for him) relationship. The boy is fifty shades of messed up, but he's trying for Ana. All I have to say is.....

  1. I like when Ana tells him to settle his twitchy palms.
  2. Putting balls in your "v" area for a party....I Don't Think So!!
  3. I had to laugh when Ana bid on Christian vacation house and  spent the 24,000 that Christian put in her bank account. 1 pt Ana!
  4. Christian Louboutins!!! (That's all I have to say)

Fifty Shades Darker.....Holy Moly

I am in the middle of Chapter 5 of the second book in the Fifty Shades of Grey series. Of course the hot sultry attraction between Ana and Christian does not disappoint. I was kind of bummed that Ana and Christian was only broke up for only a few chapters, but the author probably didn't want to prolong the intensity of the book. I have a few wondering thoughts between the first book and this book.

  1.   I wonder if Christian is such an insanely overprotective control freak, because he watched his mom get beat and then die. He couldn't protect her or save her.
  2. Can Christian become any more of a stalker. The author does not disappoint in the shock factor of what he does to control Ana's surroundings.  Her bank account number, really?
  3. Is Ana going to lose all her friends, because Christians so controlling.
  4. Kinky F@#&kery.....I had to laugh at that saying....It's a good one!!
  5. I love how "Oh your mad that I am a total stalker, control freak", no worries I will just sleep with you and you will forget about it. you are mad at me, I will sleep with you again and you will forget about the whole problem. -- I should try that with my husband when he gets mad at me or if I want him to do something. See if it works in my favor. Probably not, we've been married to long. I could try  for the heck of it. (ha!ha!)
  6. Oh my the hotness in this book!

Spoiler Alert

Oh my goodness, a twist just got thrown into the story. An psycho ex-sub, I think I'm going to like this part. It gives the story a little excitement, other than hot steamy "you know what".  I'm really excited to see where this part of the story goes.

We finally are introduced to Mrs. Robinson. I was kind of wondering what she looked like. I pictured her as a business women in a company. Not a business women/beautician. And the salons are the businesses he owns with her. Hmm, never would of guessed that.

Lastly,  He is Fifty Shades of messed up!

*I did Google the term Vanilla Sex and it was an actual term. I guess I'm a little behind with sexual termology.  Speaking of Vanilla, I will never look at Vanilla ice cream the same!

Fifty Shades of....OH MY!!

I decided to start a fun blog about the books that I read. I want to say that not all the books will be romance novels.  The book I am reading is the ever popular Fifty Shades of Grey series by E L James. My sister gave me the whole series about 6 mths ago. The girls at work had read it and they said it was good.  I was very hesitate on reading it, I am not into the whole Harlequin Romance books. I decided to see what the hype was about and started reading the first book of the series. So here goes.......

                                       Fifty Shades of Grey

  1.  First of all  this book does not  compare to a Harlequin Romance novels. Then again I have never read one.
  2.  I was hooked in the first few chapters
  3.  Their chemistry is hot, hot, hot!
  4.  Contract?  He will dictate the clothes she wears? The food she eats? Lifestyle?
  5.  Romance novel with a twist of S&M, interesting
  6.  Christian a control freak, that's an understatement.
  7.  The Elevator scene was beyond hot. I will have to rethink riding an elevator with my husband.
  8.  Vanilla sex?  Is this actually a term? I will have to Google it.
  9.  Oh how Christian is such a stalking man! scary or romantic?
  10.  Oh how Ana is so naive.
  11.  Is it an abusive relationship or "unique" relationship
  12.  I love how she calls him Fifty Shades of Grey, or just Fifty Shades.
  13.  He took her home to mom!
  14.  I love how the author includes  Ana's  inner goddess and her subconscious.
  15. The e-mails are great.
  16.  Oh My.....hot is not the word for this book.
  17.  "laters baby" is so cute.
  18.  Last but not least, the mysterious Mrs. Robinson. I love the name Ana gave her. Yes, I think she is a child molester.
  19.  By the middle of the book, I get the whole contract thing. Not that I would want anybody in control of me. But I do get the whole part about the sex thing.
  20. Good for Ana to never signing the contract!
Finally at the end, Ana comes to her senses and leaves him. I love how she really has not  submitted all the way to him. But there is two more books to the series, so I know she will go back. Oh, how he is messed up.

We were talking at work and I came to the conclusion, if the author would of had Christian as a normal good looking guy, with a semi-normal job. He defiantly would of been looked at like a pervert, stalker, nasty guy. In my opinion, since he is a billionaire and  drop dead gorgeous some of his "habits" are overlooked.
